My Role:
My work in Cyber Rogue involved programming entirely in JavaScript with the intention of our small game being playable within a browser window.
The main focus of my role on the project was in developing the story elements and creating story-based objects which would populate the rooms of the game.
Summary:
Cyber Rogue is a relatively small and self-contained game experience involving randomly generated, room-to-room exploration of a 2D environment from a bird’s-eye view. The premise is that you are a hacker assigned to infiltrate a system you know nothing about. Over time, you have the ability to collect information which slowly reveals the truth of your mission.
Gameplay involves moving on a grid-like, room-based display and interacting with enemies. The console log serves as feedback on player actions both inside and out of combat. The graphics are very minimalist and are meant to fit a “hacking” theme. There are several levels, and players progress levels by locating the randomly placed exit doors.
